I have to do phone conferences all the time
and I play games while this is going on.
I have to put my hand over the mouth piece of
the phone so they can't hear the click.click.click

So is there such a thing as a PC mouse that doesn't click?

Don't know if this really is what you're looking for but I have an IBM keyboard (full size) with a built in track point. It doesn't make any clicking sounds when I use the buttons.

Easy, get a headset for the phone and hit the mute button.

My Dell laptop has the touchpad for mouse movement. The pad is configured so that tapping emulates left mouse clicks. This works for me during useless conference calls.

I spend many hours on conference calls and telephone meetings. If you can't use a speaker phone the headset is a must.. and a mute button with either.

There are also downloadable programs that allow you to drag the cursor over the thing you wish to click, but rather than clicking, if you let the cursor sit for like a second, it clicks by itself.

I downloaded it at work, yesterday. Kinda neat. The one I got is called MouseTool.
