good thing it is illegal to charge extra to use a debit or credit card for any size purchase. take it up with amex/mc/visa but it is the stores problem and not the consumer. needless to say, she coulda handled it better

 

it's illegal? I go to a lot of places that have signs saying there's a .50 charge for purchases under $10 with debit/credit, it's a common thing

WTF? What are you talking about? If it's illegal to charge for a "less-than" amount of purchase, I'm sure every business owner who has a credit/debit card machine would've been getting sued relentlessly. This is the first I've heard of the charge being illegal.
