I say go inside and demand a receipt a receipt for the air, and if they can't provide it with the item "Air - 25 cents" then tell them you refuse to pay. For all the hassle they'll just give you the air.

More of the same bullshit spouted by the oil companies. What matters is their bottom line profit, not the margin. The company didn't get sigificantly larger, the volume of product sold did not increase significantly, yet Exxon posted the largest quarterly profit in US history.... basically, because of an increase in price. Again -- BULLSHIT.
Exactly.

So what's next...? $.05 to make the pump light up at night so you can see ?...
Remember before pay-at the-pump you had to drive around just to find a station that was open...if there was one?

Do you have a problem with big numbers? What matters is their profit margin. Exxon has a profit margin of about 8.5%. Microsoft has a profit margin of about 27%. Why do you complain about Exxon, but not about Microsoft?
Thank you! Someone saw what I was actually looking for.

Air is always free, but if you'd need a machine to blow air for you, there's a charge. Some stations around here do have free air and water though.

If you drive around you can almost always find a station with free air. For being a few pounds down, driving a few miles (or making a few calls) wouldn't be a problem. It's probably up to the owners of the stations themselves if they have an air machine, and charge for it, or not.

We have a Shell with a "Free air for customers" deal. I'd go in, get some cashews and a Pepsi and ask for air. One day I bought my stuff, and they said the machine is broken. I didn't "need" the snacks, I just got 'em for the air. They won't get my air business anymore.

LOL - Do none of you realize that the biggest profiter from the gas prices is the government?

The prices are so high because there is no abundant oil supply in sight for the future. Congress is making sure of that as we speak actually.
