Default Rant: I hate a slow s2000!

The thing I hate the most is driving my s2000 less than 10mph....like in rush hour traffic....I don' t know how the LA guys do it. It hurts my knee because the car takes such carefull clutching at that speed or you get jerking..The close ratio makes the 1-2 gear decision difficult when you get 10-20-10 mph zone....Does this drive anyone else batty?

At least you've figured it out that you need "clutch work". Some folks haven't figured it out yet and just continue to go through slow driving with "jerking" and "bucking". Kudos to you.
I don't drive in rush hour traffic much, thank goodness but when I do I just use the clutch and throttle in short "bursts" just to propel the car forward at the desired speed and coast to the next stopping point. It's bothersome but you gotta do what works.

just curious, how long will a none abused clutch last with normal shifting and very light stop and go?

With this car, who knows? Look at one of our Calgary members (you know who I mean). He's got 40K km on his and his clutch is JUST starting to slip. He doesn't drive it like he stole it but then he hasn't been driving it like granny either.
On another high mileage car I've had (VW Scirocco), I changed the clutch @ about 100K km but then, it wasn't very powerful. I drove it moderately "abusive".
If one were to drive an S2000 like it wasn't an S2000, I would guesstimate you could get 60-80K km out of the original clutch but what owner would drive like this? Even a "geezer" like me can't resist WOT romps, aggressive non-drop take offs and quick, heavy shifting. I'm thinking mine will last about as long as "you know who" (just in case he doesn't want to be pointed out).

I hope to get a few years out of the clutch. I drive like a granny 90% of the time
