Default Is this really $12k worth of damage?

So this guy gets hosed, has a HU, GPS, etc... installed at CC and they do a crappy ass job. CC wants him to get a quote for repairs to undo their work at Honda. Honda says the car is unsafe to drive due to the wiriing because of potential for fire and quotes $12k.

Personally I think its total BS and the dealer is trying to make a payday. The guy got screwed by CC without a doubt but the dealer is trying to hose him too. Plus not letting him take his car because its a hazard sounds fishy, I'd want some real evidence before I'd let them pull that.

That's how much work is involved in replacing a wiring harness. Same reason, same price, different car.

I can see if they ahve to replace all the harnesses etc... but from the story it sounds like crappy work. I didnt see anything really indicating or warranting the repairs the Honda dealer is claiming.

uhhhh if the harness is cut and spliced, and honda thinks that warrants replacement, the whole harness must come out. that harness is huge.

i hear this kind of stuff all the time, i work for a high retail store as a audio installer. even though the price is high things happen.. but man cuttin harness's air ducts, and etc... this just tops the list. me and my other co workers printed this out and put it in a frame to show everyone what our competitor's do
