Reasons I HATE APPLE or Mac
This isn't apropos to the topic being discussed (the stagnation of the MacBook Pro) since it's from 2007, but I'm reminded of an article from back then about how the fastest laptop to run Vista, and indeed the fastest laptop they've ever tested at the time, was a MacBook Pro.

Good Luck. You remind me why I still have a job.

Wow, it really sounds like you're more worried about rejecting popular trends than concerning yourself with the quality of anything.
BTW I still love a Latte from starbucks here and there, I just absolutely refuse to wait in a 15 minute line for it. I have more important things and my time is scarce, I could give a shit less who sees me there. I think it was family guy who made a nice little parody about Macs in Starbucks..... now if only I can find a clip of it.

QF Grammar. . . and second-order effects of truth.
Good Luck. You remind me why I still have a job.

The RHEL box. . . that's a tough order.

Linux = too much, too little, too late.
I've only seen 4 households run happily on Linux. Good luck.

for the average person, that is way too much customization. It's also why apple is doing so well and gaing traction, the average user could give a crap less what hardware is in their system because most don't play crysis at full 1080p res 8x AA 32x antistropic etc.
What they do care about is how retarded they are with computers so on a windows machine, after a few months, it's completly bogged down to the point that it's unusable with malware and crap. Guess what? As of now, Macs don't get that. That's why I switched my parents to a Mac...no more "fixing" computers for them.
If people wern't retarded, a 1Ghz P3 is all anyone needs for internet surfing / email / musics / etc...the typical computer user.
Did all of you dirt poor Microsoft loving teeny boppers who drive 8 year old used AP1's come up with the cash to order an iPad yesterday? I did, the 64GB WiFi version. It will fit in well in our house with the 27" iMac, 17" Macbook Pro, Time Capsule, Extreme N Airport Router, 2 iPhones, and 3 iPods. It all works together beautifully with zero maintenance or downtime.
No worries for you value conscious Microsoft lovers. You can wait for the next round of utterly useless Win7 based tablet PC's with a "real keyboard" and "real desktop operating system" with zero content and no content delivery system. Because after all, you don't need a content delivery system if you have no content to deliver. Or, maybe you can build your own. I'm sure the HP/Dell/Microsoft devices will be the absolute fastest doorstops at the absolute lowest price.
Apple can only offer innovation that moves the entire computer industry forward while it changes the music industry, S/W development industry, publishing industry, movie industry, etc. Yeah, no value to to society there, right?
As for the Linux geek crowd.....

- They haven't updated their MacBook Pro in a while. (Even though you don't use laptops.)
- There are too many people in the Apple stores. (Even though you can order online, or check out the hardware in person at Best Buy, etc.)
