Default Recession has finally hit my area

Well the recession is now surfaceing in my province. Sucks, we are always the last to get hit with it, and they say we always get hit the worst. Since we are main source of oil for the USA, we typically ride out a bit longer then most places. Layoffs have now started and house prices are starting to drop... people will most likely be on the news in the next couple months walking away from their homes.

Just thought I would share that with you guys

It hit MY area hard a year ago.. and it hasn't stopped. The Bay Area is at 8.5% unemployment. Everyone and there mom that bought a house three to four years ago is getting foreclosed on (obviously exaggerating). But it's REALLY bad here. The person who owns the house that we're renting from told us if he can't get the refi he needs.. he's going to let the house go in to foreclosure.

It's REAL bad here.. but I feel for you. Keep your head up, if you have extra cash (and no immediate debt) invest, invest, invest.

No cash on hand at all to invest with. We (wife and I) saw this hit the USA aprox 2 years ago and saved every penny we had and sunk it into the mortgage before it hit us... we paid it off luckly. So we dont owe a dam thing... but dont have any cash either. I guess I am thrilled to be broke at this point. At least the bank cant come and take anything from us.

Yep-- my dad who's a 15 year professional has been unemployed 10 months now. My mom, also a 15+ year professional for 2. With no end in sight.. Me? 10 month "professional" and doing "alright". I think I see an issue with this equation..
