Mike, that's a crappy situation and very unprofessional of your company. That said, glad you got another job and are back on the road to kicking butt and taking names.

Mikey. I would say sorry about the old job, but it sounds like you've landed on your feet. It's a good feeling. After 6 months of unemployment in SoCal and 4 months of minimum wage retail work, I've finally found a well-paying job that I thoroughly enjoy, so I can empathize. Congrats and welcome back.

(ahem, re-up your membership. We need more pics of your roommate.)

Thanks Jon! Didn't mean to make it a gripe session, just wanted to explain a little about the situation, hope it didn't come out wrong. Still doin well south of the border?

Sixer, maybe when I earn a first paycheque Which, interestingly enough in this economy, will be a 25% raise from my past position! I knew I was a little underpaid for the past few years, but didn't think I'd make up much of it in this motion. I'll member-up next week. Ahhhh screw it, later this morning

I completely understand how some people had to pick up low paying jobs just to cover the bills, after over a month unemployed I was unable to even collect Unemployment (despite having paid in to it my whole life) as they determined my severence should cover all my expenses for a much longer time frame. In my region, the absolute maximum for unemployment, whether you make $75k or $750k is actually just shy of $1800/month. Yikes!

PS You don't want pics of the new roommate, I tried a different approach with the current one. You'd rather picture my brother naked, trust me. Now my girlfriend, on the other hand, wow. Waaaaay out of my league

I didn't see it as a gripe. Legitimate complaint and you showed that you'd moved on anyways...

Always good down here. Great overall 2008 for me - good raise, good bonus - so I'm a happy camper. Business has slowed down quite a bit but we're still keeping busy in the office, catching up on things we couldn't take care of while we were busy last year (and the two years prior)...

Sadly this doesn't stop the annoying ass headhunters from calling me every single week.

Well the recession is now surfaceing in my province. Sucks, we are always the last to get hit with it, and they say we always get hit the worst. Since we are main source of oil for the USA, we typically ride out a bit longer then most places. Layoffs have now started and house prices are starting to drop... people will most likely be on the news in the next couple months walking away from their homes.

Just thought I would share that with you guys
You always get hit with it right after laughing at Ontario and Quebec for their problems and telling them to go **** themselves. "Freeze in the dark" rings a bell.

It almost stopped MikeyCB but thanks to good fortune you should be expecting your call next week.

If your resume isn't out there, head hunters have no way of finding you.
