The Bay area sucks for meeting women case closed. I had good luck with Match years ago, but don't know how it will play in SF/SJ.

In other places where the single men = single women, Match and craigslist are great for dating and hooking up.

You shouldn't have called the next morning to begin with! That was my point.

it's much easier to meet people in person... and it's surprisingly simple, you can meet a new gal every single day....


1- open your mouth and say something... ANYTHING... most women just want you to open the door of communication, and will do all the leg work from there... I remember one time I told a girl she took my stool at a bar (she hadn't I was just drunk and amusing myself)... even that turned into conversation and her number. Saying absolutely anything will turn into conversation over 50% of the time even for an ugly douche like me... and in fact, NOT complimenting her will spark more interest than some cheesey compliment she's use to. Be inquisitive about something you think she's into, without complimenting it, she'll try to earn your approval... sounds silly, but it's true.

2- if you can't open your mouth, SMILE... yes, really, I know, it sounds like an awful lot of effort to look like you're enjoying yourself are a happy, well adjusted person and she may have sparked your interest, but focus, and put it all together into one cool soft smile at her... should work out 20% of the time if you don't run away when she smiles back.
