I won't lose any sleep over you not having respect for me. You're not the first, and certainly won't be the last, scrub.

Not a good way to look at life IMO.

Aren't some of you who doesn't agree with GNN is being just as prejudice as he is? I'm not agreeing with him, but to condemn someone for their own personal belief isn't exactly being any better them either.

Bigotry may not be a crime, but it is certainly a vice.

It is true that anyone intolerant enough to hate GNN because of that vice shows hatred and intolerance, other vices. I have racist friends. I disagree with their views, but they are friends still.

But anyone who just hates bigotry is NOT prejudiced; they're showing ethics.

I work at a printing company that also manufactures rubber stamps of all kinds. We aren't "technically" retail, but we directly deal with our customers.

First off...The front of our shop has large windows and the one right by the door has vinyl letters with the company name and what we do

- Rubber Stamps
- Forms
- Custom Stationary
- Marking Devices (embossers, etc)

and so on.

We have people come in at least once a week and ask for a book of stamps. I very politely suggest they try a post-office like the one around the corner from us.
__

Our rubber stamps are most often a type called self-inking. A felt pad contained within a plastic cartridge that the rubber rests on and flips over when you press down so it can stamp the sheet.

The other kind of stamps often used are pre-inked stamps that are cut from ink saturated foam.

The two inks are not compatible. If they mix, they turn to goo and ruin the stamp.

When we sell a stamp, we tell the people "Use XXX type of ink ONLY". It says it on the label on the top of every stamp too.

We once had a customer come in and say "I re-inked this 4 times in the past 3 days and it wont stamp right".
Me - "Did you make sure to use XXX ink?"
Them - "Yes, I got it from you"
Me - *Shows them a small bottle of YYY ink* "This stuff?"
Them - "Yes, that's exactly what I have"
Me - "That's the wrong ink, we dont sell this stuff, we just have some in case a YYY brand is brought in for inking"

__

Across the street from us is a Blueprint company. We have similar names "Bend Rubber Stamp & Printing" and "Bend Mapping & Blueprint"
Not the same, but similar. I can certainly understand how someone who didn't know could end up confused.

What gets to me is when someone comes in to our shop
"I'm here to pick up my order"
"Ok, what was it for exactly?"
"Two sets of plans"
*I point across the street* "Probably over at the blueprint place"

One would assume that dropping plans off somewhere means you pick them up at the same location. One would also assume that if you were in a business that used blueprints more than once, you would sort of know where to go.

One would also be totally wrong on both counts, apparently.
__

The thing that gets me the most is how I must give off an aura of being psychic. When someone comes in who I have never seen, and I assume they know that they have never seen me, how they can stand there and think I know who they are is beyond me.

"I'm here to pick up my stamp order"

*I stare at them for a minute waiting to which they just stare back at me*

"And you are?"

I guess I need to upgrade my crystal ball.
__

Less than a block away there is a parking structure (across the street and a small parking lot) that was a huge to-do in this relatively small town. It was under construction for almost a year and a half. Numerous articles about it in the paper (both good and bad), and a huge sky-crane during the entire build that could be seen from just about anywhere in town. It's huge, NEVER full of cars and free for 3 hours.

People often dont come pick up their orders so we will call and remind them. Many times when they finally show up they give us an excuse "I kept coming downtown but there is never anywhere to park!"

"What about the parking structure?" (remember it is 1/2 a block away)

"Where???"
