Default RIAA just announced crackdown on MP3 uploaders on file sharing programs

http://www.riaa.com/news/newsletter/062503.asp

Employees of RIAA will now be trolling Kazaa, MinWX, and all other file sharing programs for the purpose of filing lawsuits against these users. Things should get interesting...

Key is they are lookinging for people who make songs available to share... If you do not have songs others can access you are ok

I think this is kind of funny, but then again I'm not a big MP3 user. I was just downloading some songs to see if I want to own the CD myself. Sure enough, I liked what I heard, and just came home with Liz Phair, Robbie Williams and The Donnas. I can't imagine playing MP3s through my home stereo except as background music, the sound quality is so bad!

4 students have already been fined ridiculous amounts of money as the outcome of a court battle.

It will be interesting to see who they go after. It would be physically impossible to go after every individual that is uploading/downloading music. This smell's like a scare tactic....I'm sure they'll go after the heavy users, hoping that the rest of us fall in line. The more they try & stop people, and piss everyone off, the more everyone is going to fight them.

DOWN WITH THE MAN!

They won't be going after those who download music. They will be going after those who make the music available for download.
