(Take a flight recently? How did you like the $200+ fuel tax?...try to argue next time with them about it, and see if you can "avoid" it.)

If you are so bothered by gas price, do what I do, ride a bike to work. Gas consumption for that, ZERO. Ride the bus; the bus is already running, taking one more passenger (you) requires about 0.1% more gas.
You'll still need to use petroleum products, just use less of it - that's what I'm saying.

Even if we had to fight the rest of the world, it'd be worth it, man. It'd be worth fighting for a chance to pay pennies for a gallon of gas. 
I don't care what other nations are paying high prices, we, as Americans, are NATURALLY entitled to the cheapest prices of everything available. C'mon, man, Americans always jump head first into every international crisis to lead the rest of the world. We deserve cheap prices, man!
