ouch. sorry to hear that. careful with this car in the rain..especially on bald or balding tires. i drive the s2k slower in the rain than i ever had to w/ the si.

oh! try craigslist ..sometimes you get lucky.. you save on shipping and you can visually inspect teh front bumper first ! thats how I got my front and rear.

i don't get it. what makes you think some other car, such as your s2k, would not have tripped over the same pothole?? or are the EVOs notorious for losing control over road imperfections??

i personally love driving the s2k in the rain, not only because it's challenging, but you can get the car to slide at a lot lower speed than in the dry...

lol, VTEC Junkie, i'm not dissing evos... i'm just lauging at his reasoning for the accident... even he thinks its pretty silly, i mean we both came to the conclusion that it was due to the lack of seat time in his evo... he was only 677 miles into it. i just poke fun at him since he said "i thought i was handling an RWD car" i'm just like i'm glad ti have an RWD car.
please dont think i'm disrespecting the evolution, it was my next choice if honda didnt approve me for the s2k.

I am at a total loss when I read posts like this (and there are many).

In 34K miles of driving my S in all kinds of conditions on stock S-02s, the only time the rear EVER stepped out was when I wanted it to.

I didn't grannie the car, so what are you guys doing that I didn't?

Get rid of the Bridgestones..... and get these..

Goodyear Eagle F1 G3-D3 I have them on my car, and you will NEVER have to worry about rain again. They grip better in the wet than most tires grab in the dry...Amazing tires.
I have them too, a great set of tires

I destroyed my Dad's new (to him) Porsche 944 Turbo S with about 270 whp in a rain storm. I was doing 55 mph, went to pass someone (who was doing 45) without hitting the gas - I just kept it at a steady pace. The back tires lifted on the water in the grooves of the lane next to me and I spun three times. The problem is, I didn't lift my foot...and the tires never caught traction. Well, without traction, they started spinning, which increased boost, which made them spin even more. I didn't want to abruptly lift for fear of making it worse.

Needless to say, it couldn't have gotten any worse.

The rear tires were brand new Michelin Pilot Sports - good tires in general, even in rain. They didn't do diddly squat for me that day, though. Freak accident - going straight (more or less), 10mph below the speed limit, doing nothing stupid.

It's not always about the driver. I was going slower than just about everyone (new car, to me, plus I didn't own it) and I still had the car get away from me...

Glad you're fine and glad you have insurance, too.

I drive my car the same way no matter what the conditions are..I've had my back come out on me several times but regained control and went on my merry way.......
