The Miata.net forum has a few S2000 vs. Miata threads going. No real bashing but the usual misinformation. Some of them have a clue, others the same old thing. Why would a Miata owner worry about low end torque, like a Miata has ever had any?

The Miata board has closed the thread because it "turned into us vs. them". In the end some poster claimed S2000 owners were Honda junkies and wouldn't buy anything else. He went on to say he hates Honda design (not the engineering) and they make a lot of cars with no low end torque...

When I was checking out the Supra forum few days ago and they had a discussion about the S2000, it seemed like many Supra owners don't give a sh!t about the S2000. I was probably the only one there to defend the S2000. One guy brought up the idea that S2000 is gay and overpriced that he would rather get a miata and turbo it to beat the sh!t out of S2000 and still save some money. I agree some Supra owners are cool, but some are just ignorant & cocky idiots.
Now, would you rather have a turbo miata or a stock S2000?
I'm sure the answer is very obvious.

Every board has a different standard. I checked out a thread the other day that asked if the Miata was a "girly-man" car The conclusion was that with mods or a turbo it wasn't and stock it was. Whatever. I'd love to see how that one would play on the Miata board.

Guys, in the 5 cars i have owned over the years i have noticed this about the s2000.

Many people who don't own it, dislike it or hate it.

It promotes jealousy in others.

People get upset by things that threaten them. The s2k has got many cars beat and at a very low retail price.

This upsets many, from the v8 owners to the z3s to the boxster owners.

Think of it this way, if the car wasn't so good you wouldn't find it being bashed everywhere all the time, do you see people bashing the type Rs??? (which is also a fine automobile btw.) My point is, we should be proud that so many people claim to dislike the car.

Peoples egos are threathened by it, and we all know why, IT KICKS ROYAL A$S.

Not 3 hours after the first thread closed, a second one popped up.

Of course, as an ex-miata owner, I couldn't resist throwing in my two cents...

I was kind of dissapointed actually. I would have thought more the Miata guys would "get" it...

Pfb, good post. I personally wouldn't waste my energy explaining to them. It's pointless. Let them stay ignorant...
