Has anyone had a run against one of the new WRXs yet and if so, how did you go?

No WRX here in America yet. i think up to about 60mph it may be pretty close, but after that the WRX really loses steam (at least according to the UK mags)

WRX = 0-60 in about 5.5-5.8 (similar to S2000)
0-100 in about 16.9 (S2000 - 14.2)

Would make for a great 1 car family mobile though!

Yeah but the US spec WRX comes with THREE catalytic converters. Take two of those out and you're still basically legal and you gain big HPs. Rumor from HKS is they took two cats off, put an intake an exhuast on it and couldn't believe how much power it put out. I didn't hear the number, but from what I heard, it was nearly 100 hp gain just from those minor mods. Once my financial situation is a little better, I will definitely be looking to buy one of those as a daily driver. I'm sick of driving my S2000 every day. I'll keep the S2000 as a weekend car, but driving it daily is just a total pain in the ass.

Reverend - does that even seem logical?

I know the USA has 227 hp vs the UK 215, but i cannot
imagine gaining even 50 hp by simply whacking 2 of the
cats.??

If i could (with no unreliable mods) get the WRX into
the 13's (13.9 counts), i think i would sell my typhoon
and get one....

Until then... big clunky city resident looking typhoon
stays.

WRX seems like a very attractive option to the 4x4 we are using during the winter when/where no S2K has gone before...
