I went to the Los Gatos Ferrari dealership today to oggle at the black Lamborghini Diablo (which I will always believe was the last sexy Lamborghini body-style... now that L-cars have been Audi-sanitized) when I walked in and my friggin jaw hit the floor.

sitting there in front of me was the pinnacle of automotive sportscar excellence... a McLaren F1.

at this same dealership, I've saw an Enzo a while back, and a Carrera GT... (and they had both cars still there)... but I never was speechless as I was when I saw the F1. holy mother... that car is BEAUTIFUL. the central driving position is friggin awesome. I got on my hands and knees to look under the car and was greeted by a COMPLETELY FLAT PLANE OF CARBON FIBER... perfectly aerodynamic.

this particular one belonged to Mario Andretti and had his signature on the sun visor. it was red, for those of you who care.

I went and looked at the Enzo a bit, glanced in the Carrera GT... played with some numbers in my head as to when I can afford the Diablo... but damn... that F1 is truly awe inspiring.

if anybody is in the Los Gatos, CA area... go see it before it's sold. (sale is pending... asking price... *gulp* $1.9 million.)
