scot's fault
scot keeps comlaining about random crap that tends to have a valid point embedding somewhere within and it got me thinkin.
does anyone have strong negative feelings towards alcohol and the culture surrounding it? it is arguably as dangerous, deadly and unhealthy as many other vices that people have and yet everyone walks around saying things like "i got so wasted" and are usually viewed as being cool. the whole world as a culture embraces alcohol and it bugs the hell out of me.
im prob alone on this.

I have negative feelings towards the culture of resorting to drugs in order to mitigate life's problems. People that get wasted are usually people that do not feel confident in who they are, so they resort to drugs to be a different person for a little bit. I am willing to bet that the majority of the people in this world DO NOT get wasted on a regular basis, or at all.
Personally, I imbibe because I enjoy the taste and initial buzz that beer or wine brings on. You'll rarely see me with a 3rd drink in my hand.

I don't know, I've tended to agree with Scot on a lot of things anyway.
I do have a bluetooth headset though. Bought it mainly for when I'm driving.

I really don't have a problem with them when people use them to make or take a call, it is when they walk around with the things sticking out of their heads for no reason. As if it were like wearing a watch. Get up, get dressed, insert phone in head, and ready for the day!!!! It makes people look like retards unless they are actually in the middle of a call.
I was having lunch in Waikiki a couple weeks ago and about five teenage girls walk in and 3 have those things in their heads. I can't imagine what kind on phone calls a teenage girl on vacation in Hawaii would be taking, especially when they are at least a 3 hour time difference from anybody they know. But they sat there through an entire hour long lunch with the things sticking out of their heads like they thought it made them look cool. It makes them look more like the robot guy on cloud city in Empire Strikes Back who is always walking around with Lando. I would have thought more of them if they walked into the restaurant drunk.

hmmm. reading everyones responses is very interesting! everyone of the college age usually drinks a good bit, and the only ones who don't are the strict religious types, it seems, and even lots of them do it simply to have 'fun.' not all nights with large doses of alcohol are 'fun,' but dammit, it sure can help sometimes.
i also see how its damaging too, so... i guess i just don't try to morally categorize it... yet
