Default As seen on TV

So maybe we should get together as a community and give reviews of products that we always see on the infomercials, but never try because they are on infomercials.

Put a rating of 1-5 pluses at the front of each item. If an item really sucks, maybe use minuses to show total garbage.

+++Magic Bullet. my mom got suckered into buying this and gave us the second one. Works pretty well, but it seems to take up alot of space in our cabinet. cleanup is good.

++George Foreman Grill (old style). I have the original grill with non removeable plates. works well, cleanup sucks though as you arent supposed to submerse in water. grease gets all over, and it looks pretty bad on your countertop. since you cant adjust temp, you have to adjust cooking time and intensity (preheat vs no preheat, etc)

+++++ "Oxy" based cleaners. I havent tried oxy clean, but the other cleaners that advertize "oxy" in them are great. they work on most everything. I used some on my carpet and it got alot of stains out that other pre treaters could not. also works on car upholstery.

+ Auto glass chip repair. I have 3 chips in my van windshield. i think i waited too long to repair them and they got dirt in them, but the chips are still clearly visible. It probably helped bond the chip, but for resale, the chips are still there. it was only $9 at walmart though. I recommend you fix it quickly for best results.

i am interested in stuff like the pedipaws, shamwow, and other cleaners. we even have a "as seen on TV" store in our mall.

thanks

Dave

Oxy clean works well. Its pretty readily available now though.

The magic bullet however is total crap. They say its 1,2,3 and you have perfectly blended whatever. I tried to make a margarita and after 30+ secs of blending there were still huge chunks of ice.

btw, i love those shamwow commercials with the creepy lazy-eyed guy. when he pours a 2-liter of soda on a little rug and it seeps through to the tabletop, then...cut...suddenly it's dry and he uses the shamwow on it and magic!!!

ok seriously, my wife's mother bought the pedipaws. it's just like a little sanding wheel. it doesn't work that great. the dogs are actually afraid of it and it does still chip their nails slightly.

george foreman grills and the oxy clean stuff is awesome!!

we went to a "home" show a few years ago. we a few cheap things there that i think Bed, Bath & Beyond sell now. we got these spikey dryer balls that are supposed to replace dryer sheets. they suck!! all they do is make a lot of noise. and we bought this blue foam mop thing that is supposed to clean up everything. the demonstrations are cool but don't waste your money on it. the mop head rips, the handle is crap (supposed to extend and always collapses when you use it).

I hear good things about the Ronco Rotisserie. Initially it was TV only, now you can find them in major housewares stores.

Space bags work pretty well. Bought some of those at bed, bath, and beyond about a yr ago and theyre definitely useful. Over time a bit of the air tends to leak out but overall id say they're worth the price.

Our Boston Terrier tries to bite it, but it is better than the clippers.

Oxy cleaners work well. Magic bullet is a good quality product. The helpful Honda man won't come to your house and babysit your kids. That is false advertising.

it dosent do any damage or needs screws to put in. it uses leverage.
