The Chapel Hill SHiraz is a good drop but I don't think it is available in the USA. I haven't had it for a few years since I OD on it a few years ago and had the worst hangover of my life

If you like Port, which I love, there is an Aussie brand of Tawny which is called of all things "Emu", its not expensive but is as good or better as some that are 4 times the price.

Its very smooth and sweet, not a bit of bitter and quite fruity. Very consistant.

We don't get the "Emu" in Australia
It's not that surprising. I have seen Australian wines in the US which I have never seen or heard of before in Australia!

If you like fortified wines, look for some of our wines from Rutherglen. It's pretty hard to go too far wrong

Wine enthusiast had an article on Shiraz/Syrah last month, I think.
I am a bit partial to Penfolds, but I can't remember which bin.
