Shooting in my hood

There was a shooting yesterday morning a block from my house. I drove past at 11:40am and saw cops running all around my neighborhood but didn't know what was going on.
Turns out someone was killed by some unnamed, uncaptured gunman.

The articles make it sound like I live in the ghetto, but condo units in my building are $300-400k and I live 5 blocks from the most famous street in Calgary, known as the "Red Mile," the busiest bar and restaurant strip in the province.
The road is still closed down and Forensic Units as well as Search and Rescue trucks have been stationed there since yesterday. Makes me slightly nervous that the cops won't even talk to the public about it, especially when there is a killer running around our neighborhood. I left my patio door open to let some air flow yesterday so when I got home from work I walked in and grabbed a tire iron out of my closet before taking a walk around the condo. Was probably overboard but the dude is somewhere and I don't feel like running in to him in my house.

I actually just booked a flight last Friday, flying to Toronto on the 14th of September, there for a week, then hitting up England for the week following. Not sure I'm going to get a weekend in Ontario this time :-( Any chance you're in town over the week then?
PS.. don't buy a gun man.. rye and ginger + .44 don't mix..
