Should I buy a nice car or a house?
In short, I got promoted. I will soon be working in Paris for 6 months all expenses paid, with my current salary on top of that. Now, i'm a 20 year old guy with no real outgoings (

my experience has been that you should wait to settle down before buying a house. women are a bit pickier than men.

I can't believe this is an actual question, if you're asking this then you know the right answer is the one that seems boring. 
Truth is, in my current position in life if I didn't already have the S2000, I wouldn't buy one now. I'd be dumping nearly everything in to a house. Would you rather own something worth $200k+ or something worth $20k? Yes, I know the bank would "own" most of the house while you pay it down, but you'd be moving in the right direction.
And who says you can't own your bachelor pad and be the landlord? Buy a home with the intention to rent out a room or separate apartment in the house (or condo) and get some other sap to start covering a big portion of your mortgage!
