Should I just pay this $87 to sprint?
actually, if he ported his number over from Sprint to Verizon, Verizon tells the porting center that the number is coming over, and they are suppose to cancel the line. The user never has to call to cancel if he is trying to port. Now, if you ported, and your phone works fine, both ways, Sprint canceled the line on their end but didn't cancel your account. You can certainly dispute that with them. Verizon should be able to tell you which date you officially came over, and that is when your service is suppose to end with Sprint.
Sprint might bill you for 30 days so if anything, you have to pay that amount. Depending on your rate plan, it could be the $80

Well I've had over $60,000 in collections to many cell phone companies, the only problem is that I didn't own a cell phone. Don't rule out identity theft, it's very common with cell phone companies
