Not on music channels. Just on talk channels, which is the way it has always been.

It's easy to blame your troubles on this economy but the truth is that many of these companies have had problems for a few years. The current situation is finally just exposing them.

Only about 92.7 percent of all people 12+ including 91.45% of adults 18-34 (the supposed "lost in ipod" demo). Time spent listening with the 18-34 crowd is the lowest of any demo but it's still a healthy 17.5 hours a week. In car usage also up last year.

... that's who

I tried sirius for a bit, wasn't that bad. but not worth the $12/month fee.

Are you serious? Do you live in some weird alternate reality where music FM channels don't play 25+ minutes of commercials every hour? Sirius also has a much broader selection of music choices than FM gives you. I use my ipod too, but sometimes it's nice to not have to search out new music and then buy it to put on my ipod.

A lot of the commercial breaks on the talk channels on sirius are much shorter and less frequent than on FM radio. For example, Howard Stern will often go for an hour plus without taking a commercial break. They have to take occasional breaks to piss and get ready for the next segments.
