I honestly think this "article" should be taken into consideration... I work at a local credit union, and today a lady that is on welfare tried to cash her check. I checked her account, and it it over drawn by $500, her check is for $675. She wanted the whole thing cashed, none deposited. I told her that I would not approve any cash back since, her account is overdrawn, it needs to be atleast at 0, for me to approve any cash back. This lady cannot even speak clearly, since she is high as shit, smelling like weed and alcohol. She was yelling at me and one of my tellers ,telling me she has bills to pay,and her kid is sick.. I check her account (transactions), and what do I see? MART LIQUOR 11 times. 7-11 8 times, some BAR 2 times IN ONE MONTH. what bills is she paying exactly? ALCOHOL bills? "COUGH MEDICINE" for her kids? gimme a break. People are ridiculous, and take advantage of systems put in place to help, those who really need them..

 

It sure seems like about 95% of the people in the system are really just abusers. I am sure there are a few people who work a couple of deadend jobs who could really use the $ and appreciate it.

I would imagine also there are many people to proud to actually sign up for the $.... those are the people who it was meant for.

My tenants drink Heinken & Hennessey...**** the cheap stuff!

 

^^ I agree with you scot, but Henessey is some good stuff.. I am not on welfare, and make a decent amount of money..
but some how Henessey on Rocks will always be my drink.. i really mean that too..
