Red face Sleeping aids?

I'm curious about the world around me. I often take herbal stuff to help me sleep easier. I hope it won't cause me health problems in the future.

How many of you take some kind of sleep aid to help you sleep? And how often?

Thanks!

I used to take Tylenol PM, i didn't get addicted to it, but it lost its effect after a while and i didn't want to increase my dosage.

I then moved onto NyQuil, that does a pretty good job, but my liver could possibly be damaged from it. from time to time i take a shot of it still if it is really bad.

what is this herbal sleep aid you are using? i may want to try it.

diphenhydramine...

aka benadryl... or pretty much any allergy medication. totally knocks me out if i can't sleep. it may seem weird taking allergy medicine to help you sleep but it's actually what they use in stuff like tylenol PM.

i get seasonal depression really bad and my psychiatrist actually recommended me taking allergy medicine for nights i couldn't sleep... that, and meletonin, which is a natural sleep aid. i was on xanex for anxiety attacks but i OD'd and after that they wouldn't give me "real" sleeping pills.

whatever you take, if you take it on a regular basis, you're body gets used to it and will no longer help you fall asleep.

I've tried many herbal stuff, but I find Rotundin (extract from Stephania Rotundin plant) to work best for me. It's supposed to be safe and non-addictive, but I personally have no way of proving that.

At home, I also have Ambien, Ambien CR, Lunesta, etc.--real sleeping prescription drugs. But I rarely take them because they are absolutely horrific. I'd rather not get sleep than to suffer through their side effects.
