You don't need a spotter with a power rack.. it's just as safe as a smith machine. You can position the J-hooks at any height, and there are safety bars so you won't crush yourself if you can't push the weight back up.. oh, and you get a real workout.

It is absolutely the way to go. Its infinitely more versatile than a smith machine in terms of the number of exercises you can perform, there is no added harm thanks to built in adjustable safety features, and you work our more muscles as you fight to stabalize weight.


A basic bower rack. bars on the sides prevent you from being crushed. j-hooks allow you to position the weight at any height. built in pullup bar
