Exclamation so where are the flying cars? Cure for disease?

I looked at some old posters today I got from elementary school in the early 90s. Showed some NASA astronatus and a goal and stuff of colonzing mars by 2010 or something..That didnt happen.

Then reminds me of how we were supposed to have flying cars by 2000? We're now just getting hybrid cars and still use gasoline.

Do you guys think technology hasn't been as rapid as it had in the early and mid 20th century? I mean since the indsutrial revolution we are a rapid pace but now it seems like it kind of hit a snag. I mean we're flying the same speed as we did in the 60s. Airplanes, Jets etc. We havent gone to the moon or sent man anywhere else in space....

No cures for major diseases. I mean sure we have internet cell phones and all but we have had that since the 60s but for military use. You can tell where I'm going. So what is your opinion on this?

I mean why aren't we in Jetsons world!!

Like Chris Rock said, doctors are never going to cure anything. They're going to find ways to treat different diseases so that we can live with them. The money is in the medication, not the cure.

I think the real reason technology hasn't advanced as fast as it did it the middle of the twentieth century is a lack of UFOs crashing at Roswell. Without any UFOs to recover, we have no new technology to "steal" and "invent."

Yep, I'm still waiting for the personal helicopter that Popular Mechanics said I'd get. I sure could beat some traffic on the 405.

And how bout some f-ing public transportation - like the train LA <-> Vegas?

And where's a good washer / dryer combo in the 21st century?

One word...

LAWYERS

They extort so much money from us. Consider yourself really lucky to be able to drive a sports car at all. Why do you think healthcare prices go up 12%+ per year. It's not from the greedy nurses.

They killed general aviation in the early 80's and will most likely destroy it again.

"destroy all lawyers"... lol.

lol. maybe not. I admit I have voted for the winner in the last 3 presidential elections. It's really difficult this time around for me as both of these guys grew up in priveledge and are members of the "skull and bones".

Now if only the govenor of California was eligible to run...
