Some meth head tried to take my car
I am glad too it did not turn ugly, it could have been. Maybe he just was looking for a warm place. I am glad you posted this because I like to put myself in your shoes and run the scenarios to see what I might do. I have some good training and have a CCW but really the last thing I want to do is be forced to use it. It like praying for a fire so you can use an extinguisher. I want to be sure I am using my skills to avoid situations that cause me to use my "extra skills" to get out of it.
Real world, real issues.

I'm sure by now they know his ethnicity, but he looked like the typical hispanic gangster type with a buzz cut, tatoos on his neck and face, grey hoody, jean shorts, knee high socks, and adidas.
I like to think that I am very level headed, things would have certainly gone differently if he had been physically or verbally aggressive. The whole situation was bizarre.
I'll be getting my CHL ASAP, it's been on my "to do" list for quite a while... but this has certainly brought it to the forefront.
I was more startled than anything, I typically try not to escalate to violence unless I absolutely have to, and in this situation I was easly 8" and 100lbs bigger than the guy, so my only concern was if he had a weapon on him.
I agree completely. I have gone over the situation in my head a hundred times, and I'm not sure how I would have handled things if I had a concealed handgun on myself. Unfortunately with his state of mind, he probably would have made me shoot him... and that would really suck. In the end I'm glad it ended peacefully, but it certainly makes you re-evaluate where you live and the situations that you may be put in.
Yup, as mentioned above, I'll be getting my CHL soon.
No, haven't had a chance to work on the car. Taking the upcoming Friday and Monday off, and I am planning on figuring out what the issue is. After having push started the car I noticed that the powersteering was off, and the radio was not working... but all the lights and locks/windows worked... so I'm leaning towards it being a battery/terminals/ground issue.

Ugh he sat in your car. Hope you purelled the absolute crap out of your interior.
Wow....interesting...lol.
As for the car, it is most definitely a charging system issue. The S is electric steering so the fact that you lost electrical components tells me that the battery cable, battery, or alternator are places to start. Good luck.
