my friend in san diego said they closed off some roads and even closed down ucsd. reminds me of somehwat of the last time there was a brush fire in sd and the smoke and ashes reached irvine.

 

Some of the pictures I've seen look apocalyptic.

poway is burning right now or at least threatened (1 for sure burnt down on Sagewood St)... rb has burned/burning almost settled... 4s ranch sound.. but custom homes on the hill have burnt down behind my house in Sante Fe Valley (in 4s)... don't know about scripps...

mass MASS burnings all over the county... extremely devastating... best wishes.

My brother said he thinks he's going to lose his house in Carmel Valley that's how bad it is. Frustrating to be on the other side of the country and not be able to do anything.

Yeah, try to stay safe! My property isn't in any danger (yet) but I know almost all the places on fire near LA. My eyes are watering from all the smoke in the air and the widespread ash is unbelievable, like a volcanic eruption.

The high winds we've got right now must be a real bitch to fight fires in.
