I've run across an interesting car that I think could be bought at a fair price. Only the real car freaks will know what it is.
It's a Ford Shogun and I know that they're damn quick but I can't find any info on them on line. A couple of years ago I did a bunch of on line research on them and now I can't find anything. Can anybody help me out with a link?
Also, does anybody know how they handle? I seem to remember that they oversteer worse than an old 911.

The write up at this site is positive.. see below..

"The Shogun wasn't all about acceleration, Beck and Titus tuned the handling to such a degree that it still remains one of the best handling cars ever (the Shogun was actually featured in a book about performance handling and no surprise since the author , Don Alexander was a suspension consultant for the Special Editions Shogun development process).
The short wheelbase and low polar moment of inertia meant direct steering response. You'd think that it would be prone to swapping ends, but the huge grip resisted any serious sideways action (deliberate attempts to cause oversteer may break the rear loose for an instant, but the rear tires would regain traction and straighten the car out). Various tests for lateral acceleration shown figures from 0.95g (Motor Trend) to 1.04g (Car and Driver). That was with late Eighties tire technology. Imagine if the Shogun was equipped with newer ultra-high performance tires."

Well I looked it over and drove it today and decided not to buy it. It is a COOL car. There were seven of these things built and all seven were different colors. The car I drove was # 2 and was the blue car.
If anybody wants a car that's quicker than a S2K, handles as well or better, is not at all sexy, and is much more rare send me an e-mail and I'll put you in touch with the owner. It ain't pretty but it SHO is fast.

I like the Shogun but I already have too many cars.
Another car ,similar to this one, I almost bought was an R5T2. A friend of mine had a black one that he sold.
But then I rememberd French cars belong in France.

Funcar, there was a R5T2 that I used to see autoX in Orlando in the mid 80's. What a fun little car. That car seemed to hit the rev limiter about every 30 feet.
