Default speaking of cats

ok guys i've searched google and can't find out why my male cat (4 years old) no longer wants to go outside - used to be he'd come and go but he'll always come home for dinner but it's been three weeks that he wont even go near the front door even if i pick him up and walk to the door he freaks

I think something spooked him or i wonder if it's because of all the snow we've seen in three weeks

no biggie i guess as he's much safer inside BUT i wonder why the change

probably because all the neighborhood cats pick on him. is he a nerdy kind of cat? sort of a loser?

you gotta intervene early, lest he start running with the anti-social alley cat crowd... and next thing you know he's coming home stoned out of his mind on catnip.

That is strange! My dad's cat has decided, after over a decade of being an indoor cat, he wants to go outside!
Ahhh if only cats could talk!

Is he neutered? If not, then maybe he's gotten his fill of sleeping around and just wants to be lazy for a while.

I would think your cat may have had a bad experience outside...perhaps another cat or other wildlife.
I would take your cat to the vet to have it checked out for any bite marks.

My cat is paranoid when he's trying to eat. He only eats when we're around because there are racoons and possums and the like. They used to like to take his food.

It could be because of the snow! My cat wouldn't even stop near the door because he didn't like the snow or the cold. They have to dig under the snow to get to the dirt to go pee and poo. Guess he didn't like cold paws!

I wouldn't start to worry unless u see him with a lost appetite. That's usually the first sign of something wrong with animals

thanks everyone

yup he's nuetured and he hasn't lost his appetite - he seems normal in every other way - i checked him over last night and didn't see any marks on him so i am hoping it's just the snow

any chinese restaurants near your house?

There's a cat in the kettle at peeking moon....gotta stop eating there at noon.

sidenote - our cat is indoor only.... somehow the little er got out last night (not even sure how).... at 11:00 i found him hiding behind the gas grille on the back porch..... he is declawed so I am sure he'd get his ass whopped by everything outside.
