Stocks, bonds, mutual funds....

I would have a better time watching the money grow than wasting it on trips and other non-essentials.

Yeah...but we never know how long we have here...know what I mean. So experiencing LIFE...you know, LIVING LIFE is not a bad idea either.

You can't take the money with you.

travel for sure, but not enough vacation time to do it.

keep the ideas coming. it's surprising to me how little money can buy after you have some nice essentials, but maybe im wrong. hopefully im wrong.
sorry, but i think you're dead on. i think it shows growth as a person when you see that shift in yourself and accept it/learn from it.

after you stop caring about having a little more, more doesn't matter. and after you're entertained all the time and then find yourself just as empty after it ends each time, you'll want more substance to life, not just the passing fluff of fun/entertainment alone. monetary things don't fill that void.

as they accumulate wealth, some just see the shift:
time > money

but i think ultimately:
meaningful experiences and loved ones >> time or money as priorities

to be honest, that's generally why we treasure time and money anyways. we think it will make the life experience fuller and more enjoyable.

With that paragraph you 100% hit the nail on the head for where I am now.

Believe it or not i could have quit my senior year of high school and started sweeping a glass factory near by and made 80k a year. Im not sure if that was before or after taxes either way it would be near the 60k a year of this thread.. i guess he said after expenses so maybe slightly less. My fathers cousin had the job for nearly 50 years and he was retiring and the union gave him the option of choosing some one to take his position i was offered the job. But... sweeping 8hrs a day for the rest of my life... i would rather make 10k a year and work in pet shop lol. I mean yea its a good deal but im fairly gifted in the academic field and that would put a big stunt in my academic growth.

To answer your question. A house a wife and 2 cars.
