JOeys2k, I have never spoken of this in public, as I have always considered it a private matter, but you need to hear this! On my 38th birthday, my then father-in-law, with whom I was very close, put a gun to his head and blew his brains out while sitting in the bath tub. That is how his wife found him.

His daughter, who worshipped the ground he walked on, and whom I loved very, very much was devastated. It left a hole in her heart that no amount of drug and alcohol abuse could fill, and that my love and understanding and support did not temper. Her loss and self-medication to deaden the pain from the loss of her father destroyed our marriage and left her a broken person. She never got over it.

Suicide is the most thoughtless, selfish thing you could ever do. It will affect your wife and children for the rest of their lives. If you don't hear anything anyone else is saying to you on this forum, please listen to one of those left to suffer the aftermath.

Please get help!

Well said Tony.

My Brother in Law stepped outside his house and did the same thing just over three years ago. It's amazing how badly it hurts the people that are left behind. I believe my Father in Laws death shortly afterwards was a direct result of his sons suicide.

Wow...thanks for sharing, Tony. Very sad. Maybe it will help someone else, even if the OP doesn't see it. So many stories out here.

I looked up his IP address in our system and see that this was indeed his last logged-in visit. However, I'm requesting the other admins to help me out and see if we are able to view his I addy even if he's just lurking. I'll keep you posted.

...in addition to this, I've requested info on his IP address to see if we can figure out where he's at and see if anything is in the local news...obituaries, etc.

I really believe this to be a hoax and nothing more than a terrible plea for attention...but...you never know.

Since I'm a "glass is half full" kind of guy, at least this act stimulates the economy...funeral arrangements, psychological treatments (for those left behind), florists, greeting card stores...and then a job opening.

I know...

Nice

I'm likely to agree this is just a plee for attention, and I really hope it is just that. I don't personally care what the OP does to himself, but if he goes through with it I would be concerned about his wife/children. Like others have said, it would be completely selfish to do that to them. The pain from losing a loved one like that will last their entire lives, therefore effecting how they act in relationships and even how they raise their children. Good luck finding this guy everybody.
