The Jehovah Witness's have prophesized the end of the world about 5 times now and each date passed quietly.

Did that give you goose bumps?

Steve hates us "mackerel-snackers" since we're all pedophiles at heart...

The sex abuse scandals are indeed a big problem. The hierarchy's laissez-faire attitude pretty much leaves the issues up to dioceses to deal with the issue on a local level. Most dioceses are able to deal the the matter, some struggle financially, and some are rife with problems like the Boston archdiocese.

Back to the subject, I can start making up shit for the next oh, 5000 years and it wouldn't be too hard to try to fit whatever BS I make up to explain certain phenomenon or coincidences.

Nostradamus was a physician who decided to take a bunch of narcotics and make up BS all day. I bet St. Malachi also had some 'shrooms somewheres about.

Why get so hung up on the apocalypse? Have you actually been reading the Book of Revelations?

There are partial solar eclipses extremely often at one vantage point or another on this planet. Definitely not something that is too uncommon.
