The SR-71... greatest aircraft ever?

I wonder how many UFO sightings are attributable to the SR-71? Many of the sightings today are no doubt Aurora.
(That one may actually be a more impressive aircraft than the 71... if it actually exists)

Aurora is a myth.
LOL.I don't know about the SR-71, but I'm sure the plane pictured below has been mistaken for a UFO more than once. From some angles, it most certainly does NOT look like an airplane.
F-117 Nighthawk
I never got to work on the 117, but I was working with several F-117 pilots before, during, and after, the first Gulf War. Because of a fortuitous accident, I got to watch the first raids on Baghdad live, in real-time, from a ground-based news camera, and then a few weeks later I got to hear all the stories of what it was like being up there in all that flack. Considering what these aircraft did that night, and that they did it without a single loss, this bird has to be one of the all time greats too.

If memory serves (it isn't what it use to be) then we discussed by background briefly in some PM's. I'm amazed to find that there is any interest at all, but this stuff really is interesting.
For example, in some earlier posts you and others questioned the cornering ability of aircraft, as compared to the S2000. On S02's the S2000 can pull about 0.9 G's. With slightly larger autocross or race rubber, it might exceed 1g, but only by a little. You'll never see 2g's in an S2000 unless it has wings. In a fighter aircraft, you can turn so hard that you have to wear a g-suit. Take a look at this link.
It's going to be a LOOOONG time before any car can corner hard enough to require a g-suit.

See ya,
