I went on a cruise that left Florida a few months ago. Most of the people on the cruise were from the south. Nice folks and really suprised me, but being a cruise you usually get people with some money. I didn't go around yelling NASCAR sucks and vote for Hillary though.

No it's not really like that in Alabama. There are some tough areas and stupid people. I think the same can be said of every state and I've probably worked in 2/3's of them. This was very stereotypical. Funny but stereotypical.

If you did that around where I'm from you'd be applauded. Of course, if you did the opposite, you would also be applauded. It's a difference in mentality not political stance. If you see someone you don't like you don't "gang up on them" or chase after them or whatever. That's thug mentality, and I highly doubt it survives in areas as upscale as San Fran. Sure, if you were to walk into Philly with a white robe/hat on you'd get shot, but that's completely different.
