Jeremy Clarkson is one of the best car drivers around? You're joking, right? The man drives like my mother. Well, okay, almost.

Seriously, he is not a high performance driver. I don't think he'd even call himself a talented driver.

 

I totally agree with JonBoy. Tiff would drive circles around Clarkson. Clarkson is a great host because he is so entertaining, but a world-class driver he is NOT.

I subscribe to the "multiple Stigs" theory. An anonymous driver makes it easy to change things up in case the owner would not allow anyone else to drive the car or the #1 choice has schedule conflicts etc.

 

Have you guys not seen any of his shows? Whenever he has a professional race car driver on the show and he goes head-to-head with them, he keeps up with them and does just as good. I don't know what you guys are seeing, but I see talent there. Just because he's a host doesn't mean he can't drive.

Those segments often show a number of things.

1. The pro driver driving like an amateur (drifting, sliding, spinning the tires, etc, etc).

2. Clarkson driving as badly, but still keeping up.

Bottom line - it's ENTERTAINMENT, not performance, that they're trying to show.

It's not that Clarkson is a bad driver, merely that he's not a pro driver (or even close).

 

Ah... whatever... I just want to know who it is... lol.

Clarkson is a fun driver, not a fast driver. Real race-driving is work, not fun.

 

Just because he drift doesn't mean he a bad driver. But it shows he has great control. Just like Tiff when he drift the car does that show he a bad driver probably just have fun. I think it a bunch of different driver because if they are professional driver they would have schedule conflict with the show and there professional career.

 

I just love the Stig's music choice at times... Phil Collins? Brilliant!
