Strange story from sleeping.
That's why I never sleep in class. In highschool, I had that conscious but can't move deal...I thought someone was holding me down, because I was aware of what everyone was doing around me.
I also do the spaz thing all to often. Falling off of a bicycle in a dream is a good example. I stuck my leg out in class upon awakening from a dream once too.
I just found these guys, and I am intrigued to say the least.

Yeah, lucid dreaming is pretty cool, but one time I was dreaming of fighting (I think I was in the old school Street Fighter game or something) and I woke up and I had punched this girl who was sleeping in my bed right in the face- no joke! That was the last time she stayed over, to say the least
Hahah nah, the worst dreams are when youre climbing up stairs or up to the top of the building, look down and say to yourself "dont jump!" But next thing you know youre falling like a rock! OR, when youre trying to run away from some psycho or some elephant herd and your legs feel like lead. Forget working out, those dreams make you tired!
The correct term for this is catalepsy.
I used to have it happen 3-4 times every night, for a period of around 10 years, starting when I was in my teens back in the early 70s. It is very annoying ,and often quite scary, as the only way to get out of the cataleptic state is to relax, or submit, to the forces that hold you. If you try and resist it will just hold you tighter.
I still have occasional experiences of it (once every 2-3 months), 30+ years after it started.

I have had "sleep paralysis" once that I could remember. It was the worst feeling! I felt helpless, like I was stuck in some lame horror flick. I was half awake and I wanted to open my eyes but couldnt, I couldnt ask for help, I could move my body.
Holy crap, I had this paralysis last night. I was dreaming, and I was on the edge of my bed. I had a dream some sort of furry creature was trying to bite my face, but I couldnt move...
it came closer and closer and I couldnt move. Then I realzied I could snarl, so I let out a snarl (and I think I did in real life) and once the happened I was able to move again.
I woke up right after that and moved back away from the edge of the bed, but it was really freaky not being able to move my arms or legs or anythgin and this little furry monster was comign at my face.
I have a Sheltie who sleeps with us, and I wonder if he hadnt woken up and was trying to lick my face and thats why I had that wierd dream...
the paralysis part sucks... its not the first time its happened.. but actually its kinda neat... you recognize your asleep but you cant wake up and you cant move.

Sleep paralysis happen because your mind think you are dreaming, it puts a hold on itself, its a mechanism for preventing you actually move according to the dream. But your mind is actually awake, so you can
yeh all you have to do is let yourself go and you will have an out of body experiance hence your at the edge of the bed you hear ringing buzzing, your body is alspeep but your main self is awake and can get out and jsut fly anywhere........most peopel cant do it because thery are terrified and you cant be afraid to do this
