I had PacBell in the house I just sold. IT SUCKED!!!
Nothing but downtime and everytime I called them they told me it's probably user error. WTF???

Now I have Cable. Cheaper than DSL. Plus with PB I was getting between 384-768k down. Now my average is about 1600k down and fastest test was over 1900k down.

I have a Netgear wireless router.

It took Pacbell 5 days!!! Damn, my cable company came the same day I called them.

Thats how it should be. Back when I got mine, Pac Bell was notorious for 3-5 weeks waits. needless to say, I was fine with 5 days. The cable company around here aint alot better though...I always wanted to give them a 4 hour window that I MIGHT be home so they can work on the lines...

lucky that nothing wrong with my @home..!!! maybe RI is tooooo small ... so, no one cares, so our connection is still on..!!

No, @home is still around till Feb. They got some financing from Comcast and Cox to last that long. You'll probably be getting your privder switched around the Feb. timeframe.
