tailed by a 911 turbo....
I actually had a guy in a brand new, still wearing temp tags, 911 Carrera Coupe (non-turbo) pull up next to me on the highway a couple months back. He wouldn't look at me; he just sat there next to me for a few seconds, then punched it.
We were doing about 75, so I dropped into fourth and hit it, expecting to watch him pull away gradually. We ran up to about 115 before we came upon some traffic. Get this-- I had him by almost two car lengths!!
He looked pissed, like he thought I was a Miata so he didn't downshift. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sorry to say but although bikes are fast, the 911 Turbo is a frickin' monster. It'll whip the pants off most veteran motorcycle riders, of course at the hands of a veteran sports car driver.
It can out corner, out brake and out top speed most of us... about the only thing it can't (just barely) beat us at is accelleration. My RC-51 can do 0-60 under 3sec as can most 750 and literbikes. Heck even a brand new $8k 600 can do 0-60 in the mid 3's. But everything else is a toss up.

There are a lot of fast acelerating bikes out there Loki (and acceleration is what I was referring to). As you say low to mid 3s for 0-60 is about average and there are a number of machines that will hit the 1/4 mile in under 10. As for top end the Honda Blackbird, Kawasaki 1200 and Suzuki Hayabusa
all top out around 190mph. Don't forget guys we are talking about bog standard off the showroom floor bikes costing under US$11,000.
I do agree there is one place the Porsche (and most cars) will beat a bike and that is around corners - not sure about outbraking though..
