Tenblade and Chix Going On a Trip: Suggestions?
Take as much time as you can...it will never be enough. We went for 22 days, Australia, NZ, and Fiji. Did the scuba thing on the Barrier Reef from Hayman Island Aus.,and in Fiji. Toured the South Island of NZ. We have some great photos. PM if you would like to see some of them. This is a great trip if you want to "get away" from civilization.
I'm going to Buenos Aires, Argentina in Feb. this deal was just too smokin' good to pass up:
6 nights in the Central Park Kempinski (a nice, upscale hotel), breakfast daily, ride to and from airport, including airfare from SFO (on United).
total: $1138
on top of that, Argentina is in a bit of a currency crisis, and has un-pegged their peso to the dollar, so it is now 3:1. which means my dollars go 3x as far.
and Buenos Aires is known as the Paris of the West. incredible history and culture in that country. I think now is one of the best times to visit Argentina... so much so that I up-and-booked this trip last minute just a few weeks ago, and leave in just a couple weeks.

j/k I always bust on my buddies who are Greek when they say the same thing. Honestly, that is a good suggestion. How far does the dollar go?
did the Greek join the EU? if they're on the Euro, the dollar doesn't go very far at all these days.
that's why I'm avoiding Europe for a quite a while. with the recent surge of the Euro-vs.-$ value, that place has gotten 30% more expensive.
EDIT: Checked the CIA World Factbook. Yes, they did join the EU. their currency is the Euro and now is about the most expensive time you could visit.
however, now is the time to visit Central or South America. or select Asian countries, although the weather might still be stormy there.
It's summer in Buenos Aires. (and anywhere South of the Equator, actually. New Zealand would also be very very nice... but wow, pricey from the E. Coast of the US)
