The term 'rice' is negative.
This thread started 'out of hand'. The title refers to 'rice', but it's a race poll.
I believe in freedom of speech, but with that, I recommend a side order of common sense.
Oh, and BTW, the best way to kill a thread is not to respond to it. Damn

now my $.02 .... 'rice' is a term used to describe a style of modifications to a car... its only offensive if you try and make it offensive... I've heard other terms which are far worse... i.e. f.o.t.b.(fresh off the boat) and s.a.t.b(atraight across the border).... so, just calm down, no one really cares what is rice and what isn't, and specifically, its not ment as an offensive term
I think there's a glimmer of intelligence in this thread but most of it is bull. Everyone is trying to justify their views, most often at the expense of someone elses. Maybe the next poll should be, how many people changed their minds or their actions after reading all this. Let me quess.. .. ..
Frankly I was curious about the term "ricer" since I don't use and I don't hear it used, but I have seen it show up on the board. The term rice-burner has been around since the early '70's when gas prices hit the ceiling and high-mileage imports became fashionable with some and lothed by others. I assumed ricer to be a negative term. So, is it the car, the race, or both? I'm sure it depends on one's point of view. Maybe the best answer is to find another clever word to describe these cars. How about chezzzzy looking?
