Theoretically speaking can you donate blood
If a certain someone smokes marijuana regularly will his blood be tanted. If there are current blood drives going on at a local gym and that someone wants to help. With all the demands for blood lately with the hurricanes and all, will his blood be accepted?
actually, I think THC-innundated blood would be preferable. Imagine how much more pleasant an otherwise traumatic experience would be if you got the benefit of a nice NorCal chronic
(not like the recipient isn't likely to be doped up on opiates already)
Seriously, unless the person is injecting the stuff, I doubt it would be an issue. Perhaps the on-site personnel would reject his donation if he told them he was currently high, but there is no compelling reason why metabolized THC would preclude donated blood from being useful, AFAIK. That doesn't mean the various agencies responsible for collection would agree with my admittedly armchair analysis.

They do a blood test to make sure the blood doesn't have anything it's not supposed to have in it. If your blood isn't good enough they will reject it and send you a letter stating why it was rejected.
The Red Cross doesn't screen for THC, so you'd be fine. They just don't want you to show up stoned, that's all.
I was motivated to look this up a while back because there was a local blood drive, and I smoke weed more than regularly. The Red Cross was smart enough not to screen out all the stoners, because as we know, there's quite a few out there.

Also I'd think (pure speculation here) the reason they don't want you to show up stoned isn't because it's bad for the blood. I'd guess it's because they want you to decide to donate with a clear mind that isn't under the influence of anything.
