The last person we tried to offer assistance to didn't listen to us after 3+ pages, so forgive us if we don't seem too interested.

All of those processors can be recommended for different situations and or applications. So tell us what you are wanting to do with your laptop.

Both of those video cards plain suck.

Graphics cards on laptops are like putting a turbo in a Yugo.... yes it will make preformance better but not even good enough to hang with todays bottom dollar desktops. You just cant play hardcore games (really graphic intense ala DOOM3) on a laptop.

Althon 64... 3000+ means its equal to Intels 3.0ghz.

I cant explain enough about a graphics card but they just aren't good enough for games.
Oh and if you dont play games, then dont bother wasting the money. They will not turn on unless needed and are only needed in Viedo Games and some select editing programs (3d max and the like, but if thats what this is for then you shouldn't be getting a laptop in the first place)

actually, there are fast laptops for gaming.

The Mobility Radeon9800 absolutely kicks ass. It has 8 pixel pipes and its own fast dedicated RAM with a 256bit interface.

today's "bottom dollar" desktops have "Intel Extreme graphics" that don't even have the features needed for today's games, much less the horsepower to run them.

If you intent to play games, the LEAST to consider is the mobility radeon 9600 or geforce2go FX5700. Anything less lacks any real horsepower. These are 4 pipeline chips. the choices you mention are 2 pipeline.

Some laptops now have upgradable graphics. There's now a standard for adding the required circuit board to existing systems. You'll only find this in $2500 laptops though, but it'll trickle down.

Between the choices you have, the geforce4mx 440. The 9200 is better, but the 64MB on the geforce is a bigger deal. The 9100IGP uses system RAM which is much slower than dedicated ram, plus it competes with the cpu for bandwidth.
