You may be relying too much on KJ Only pages on the Internet?
Remember, I am only am amateur. Is there more to the story that I am missing?

That the Bible is a book that's been translated, abridged, edited, and retranslated so many times that now it's only just a book of fables?
What? This is not an intelligent statement. "Translated, abridged, edited, and retranslated so many times" has nothing to do with fables. Check your dictionary.

That's correct. The first half is fact, the second half is opinion. I apologize for combining them as such: at the time, I was trying to make a point.

So, garyj, now that you've attacked me for something like an entire page here -- I have to ask you.

Do you have a point?

And the strict definition of a theologian is one who studies religions, not one particular religion -- am I correct?

Similarly, my degree in physics doesn't make me an expert in all of science -- but I probably know more than the layman.

Since you asked:

1. To the same degree you have expectations of others, have that same expectation of yourself - in this case logic.

2. You seem to have the intelligence to successfully argue your viewpoint, but it takes respect for everyone's views to get it across. Learn some respect.

3. Get off your high horse. Take a drive in your S2000 - it's quite low to the ground.

In the real world, most theologians have a bent. Very few Christian theologians have, for example, read the Koran or Confucius. Some have not even studied Judaism - from which many of their "doctrines" originate. Theologians usually have a field of study somewhat beyond the bounds of their church affiliation, but not global by any means.
