Couldn't agree more. Hope I didn't come off as so, but a very good point.

Plenty of reasons to love/hate lower case i(insert whatever) branded products. The real question is, what might you be looking for in a phone?

I started with a 3G iPhone when they first came out, I broke it somehow after about a year so upgraded to the 3GS. Att does this "if you had a iPhone they allow you to upgrade to the next iPhone as ling as you had it more than 6 months. The 3GS got water damage (according to apple) which lead to me getting a 4g. I had the 4g for a while but when the Verizon 4g came out I switched to them because it was cheaper for my parents and I could jut be on thier plan. I sold my 4g for $450 which covered canceling at AT&T and almost paid for the other phone. I'm hoping to buy a iPhone5 if they allow early upgrades.

I'm not a iPhone fan boi but I will say I have yet to play with a phone that's more simplistic with a better user interface. The IPhone just works, flawlessly. I've had no issues at all besides the water damage issue. Apple sucks in the behalf of replacing broken phones (atleast in my case) but that doesn't defer me from buying thier products. I just keep it in a otter box.

Warren, I highly suggest waiting for the iphone 5 or buying the iphone 4 if you cant wait. Every generation has improved significantly, and although it appears you are "losing money" in the initial purchase, the newer models always hold their value. Example: On craigslist, a 3G ~150. a 3GS ~ 200-300. a iphone4 ~400+.

Just my 2 cents.

Those are more realistic numbers, I still want to know where the other guy is from that lists them on craigslist for 120-180 for a 3GS, sign me up for 10 lol

My iPhone4 was water logged around 6 weeks after purchase. Inital cost ~$1000AUD
iPhone replacement cost from Apple, $250AUD

So considering it was my fault, I thought 250 was not too bad.

I have no inherent complaints with my 3GS. It's taken a few decent falls with nothing happening to the screen; I just have a skull candy back case and screen protector. With my experience the whole antenna/grip problem isn't just with the 4, it exists in the 3GS as well. If I hold the phone a certain way, or too hard I'll see my signal drop lower, sometimes drop altogether. I honestly don't use the phone that much, it's mostly for checking my e-mail, facebook, a few random apps and texting. Phone calls are few and far between on it, so for me this isn't a huge issue. It's much more seamless and straightforward in tasks, and performance when compared to all of the android phones I've used. For example, the difference between sliding through pages on the home screen is night and day. Every droid phone I've used still looked like it was in 2005, I'm not sure if that's gotten any better. The droid is more open, so if you're into cell phone geekiness then the limitations apple throws on you is a bit of a pain in the ass. Sure you can jail break it, but there's some risk in that.
