Example: On craigslist, a 3G ~150. a 3GS ~ 200-300. a iphone4 ~400+.

Just my 2 cents.

Those are more realistic numbers, I still want to know where the other guy is from that lists them on craigslist for 120-180 for a 3GS, sign me up for 10 lol
It's an 8gb though

Most are like 250-300 though.

I have a 3gs and it's a good phone, but I wouldn't get one now. Soon it will be old hat and out of date. WHen the iphone 5 drops most likely this year they'll stop really supporting the 3gs. Once the 3gs dropped updates stopped being compatible with the 2g iphone, when the 4 dropped the 3g was left in the cold. Getting a 3gs now is getting an outdated phone.

True, once something new replaces old, it tends to fade away and become stuck in the form they are. no updates no new features. They see no reason in supporting something that is no longer being bought in mass quantities. buy the newest and greatest and hope it lasts you a year or two lol. I'm a nerd when it comes to technology. I try to get a new phone at least once or twice a year lol. I have had the 3G then the 3GS and now im on a mytouch 4G. I have liked all of them for different reasons. now to see what's next

This... I'd either buy one without a contract 200-250 dollars and I'd wait till the 4S arrives in September to take advantage of the 2 year contract buy in.
