Default Ticket limit before you get a "point" on record

I know here in CA you are limited to 1 ticket per 18 months or you get a point on your record and cant go to traffic school to clear it up, but is that 18 months from the actual day u got the ticket from the cop, or from the day u paid for the ticket in court & went to traffic school?

It should be from the date you paid the ticket. Theoretically you aren't guilty until you pay it (ha ha, what an archaic concept), so it doesn't officially go on your record until that time.
