Time Person of the Year: The American Solider...is this a joke?
At the very end of the day, who gives a sh*t who's on the cover of Time? Be it Osama, Saddam, soldiers or Barney the Dinosaur. It's media and it revolves around $$$. So why become surprised. I'd say that if anyone isn't pleased with Time's decision (myself not debating who should be on there) should write them a letter and discontinue buying their magazine.
Hate to divert off the topic (but to put things into perspective), here's an issue which hasn't gotten any discussion on the board other than maybe 1 post (did a quick search for "Iran").

DaveZ, you seem to be hung up on the word ordinary.
re-read, ordinary as in there are a lot fo soldiers. if they mass produced the enzo, it'd be "ordinary". still a bad ass car, but "ordinary"

On second thoughts, TIME has obviously done a 1st Class job.
By sticking the 'American solider' on the cover of it's Person of the Year Issue, its;
1. increased its sales in some quarters on the US and ..
2. more importantly created the sort of controversy and talking point that's at the heart of this thread.
Like it or loathed it...TIME may have the last laugh.
