I've stayed at the Tropican a few times, and you can't beat it for the locataion. Imperial Palace has the hottest waitressess in Vegas.
Don't stay at the MGM. If you forget your smokes in the room, you're better off buying a new pack. It will take you 1/2 an hour to make the round trip.
The most imprtant thing I think is, it doesn't really matter where you stay, because you are booting around so much you only see your room when your ready to crash.
Defiantly check out the Star Trek exibit while you're there. It's beyond cool. Even if you don't like ST.
New York, New York is a great casino, Luxor, is worth checking out, kinda like egypt on a budget. In the old part of Vegas on Freemont st, the have a canopy over the street which lights up. Very impressive, but that area make me nervous after dark.
Have Fun.!!!

A little advance planning will help you to enjoy your Vegas trip. A small tip is also appropriate for keno runners and slot attendants.
